    Summary

    The main purpose of the Dental Trade Alliance Foundation is to broaden oral health care awareness of and increase access to oral health care for those in need.


    Grants will be ranked and awarded based on the following areas:

    • Innovation, originality, and creativity;
    • Ability of program to attract additional funding following pilot completion or build-up;
    • Sustainability of the program past the funding period;
    • Ability to use project as a model program for expansion in other geographic areas;
    • Project should be a pilot project, not an ongoing project;
    • Ability of program to address the core purpose of the DTA Foundation;
    • Potential impact on target audience or goal.


    The DTA Foundation also offers the Dental Lifeline Network grant. The Dental Lifeline Network (DLN) is a national nonprofit organization that provides access to dental care and education for people who can't afford it and:

    • Have a permanent disability;
    • Who are elderly; age 65 or older; or
    • Who are medically compromised.


    Dental Lifeline Network provides these services through a national network of direct service programs that involve 15,000 volunteer dentists and 3,600 volunteer labs.

    Funding is not provided for:

    • Existing dental clinics;
    • Ongoing projects;
    • Mobile dental vans; or
    • Staff salaries (unless it is a new position that is part of a new innovative project)

  • Eligibility Details

    Eligible applicants include, but are not limited to, dental organizations, dental schools, universities, government and/or community based non-profit groups for programs located in the United States and its territories.

    Deadline Details

    Preliminary proposal applications are to be submitted by November 30, 2022. Starting in 2022, applications will be accepted on a more rolling basis. Interested applicants should fill out an application form by November 30, 2022 to be considered for 2023 funding.

    Award Details

    All awards will be up to $25,000 each.
