The DEW Foundation contributes to ministries, health, relief, education, community service, welfare, and arts organizations. Funding primarily enables other organizations which have a shared vision and mission. However, DEW may also fund its own charitable projects using grants to other organizations such as community trusts. Further, the foundation is guided by Christian teachings in deciding right and wrong, good and better, but is not limited to supporting only religious-based organizations. DEW seeks to encourage and empower personal charitable interest and involvement within the Dale and Edna Walsh family. Charities which members of the immediate or extended family have hands-on involvement or desire to be involved receive first priority.
Grant funding may be used for organization operating expenses. DEW is, in most cases, interested in supporting your vision and mission more than imposing their own opinion on how you meet these goals. The funder will still require information about your organization's projects to help with grant-making decisions. Grants may also be used to fund major construction, expansion or new facility programs. Funding is limited to projects that directly benefit the organization's constituents and communities, demonstrate a high demand for the applicant's programs and services, and demonstrate a sustainable business plan.
Previously funded projects are highlighted on the funder's website.
