The Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding (CESF) Program will provide funding to assist States, local units of government and tribes in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the coronavirus.
Funds must be utilized to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus. Allowable projects and purchases include, but are not limited to, overtime, equipment (including law enforcement and medical personal protective equipment), hiring, supplies (such as gloves, masks, sanitizer), training, travel expenses (particularly related to the distribution of resources to the most impacted areas), and addressing the medical needs of inmates in local and tribal jails and detention centers.
In Utah, the Utah Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice (CCJJ) is responsible for coordinating one-time Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding (CESF). More information on grant processes, award sizes, local match requirements, and proposal deadlines is forthcoming from the State.
None is available.
Funding may not be used for law enforcement equipment that is standard department issue or any other prohibition imposed by federal, state or local law or regulation.
