The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2025 provides payments to states for activities to improve the administration of elections for Federal office, including to enhance election technology and make election security improvements.

The FY24 allocation to the State of Georgia was $1,000,000.
The FY23 allocation to the State of Georgia was $1,828,609.
The FY22 allocation to the State of Georgia was $1,828,609.
The grant project period begins when EAC awards appropriated funds to the states and ends when the state expends all federal and required state match funds, interest earned on the federal and state funds and any program income earned under the grant. The Notice of Grant Award issued by the EAC will identify the project period for each grant.
To receive the funds the county must (1) have expended the monies to be reimbursed, (2) provide documentation of the spend, including narrative and receipts and (3) assure the request satisfies the requirements under HAVA.
Applications for grants had to be submitted with required documentation to the Georgia Secretary of State's Office during the grant period. The Secretary of State has sole discretion on the awarding of grants. A similar deadline is expected annually.
The FY25 allocation to the State of Georgia is $272,727. Funds are allocated based on the voting age population formula. States are required to match 20 percent of funds awarded within two years of receiving federal support.
