The purpose of the JAG Program is to assist state agencies and units of local government in carrying out specific programs which offer a high probability of improving the functioning of the criminal justice system. Funding may be requested for projects conforming to one of the seven federally defined purpose areas. Those areas are:
In Kentucky, the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet places special emphasis on regional and multi-jurisdictional programs and projects that advance statewide drug control priorities. In addition to multi-jurisdictional task forces, the JPSC focuses on portions and/or combinations of the following priorities:

Approximately $1,600,000 is available in 2023. Award amounts vary. This solicitation does not require match. Project periods extend 12 months from October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024.
