    The Harold K.L. Castle Foundation works to build resources for Hawai‘i's future. The Foundation focuses on the following core areas:
    1. Public Education Redesign and Enhancement – aims to increase student achievement by developing instructional leaders, improving the conditions in which they work, and equipping them with new teaching and learning strategies.
    2. Nearshore Marine Resource Conservation -  aims to affect immediate and measurable change in  oceans in the near term, and improve governance and management to ensure healthier, resilient, and sustainable nearshore marine ecosystems in the long term via broad-based partnership and an adaptive, community-based approach; and 
    3. Strengthening the Communities of Windward O‘ahu – aims to build social, human, and natural capital with a particular emphasis towards nurturing future community leaders.

    • Organizations based outside of Hawaii; or
    • Projects taking place outside Hawai‘i that do not benefit Hawaii
